Whether you’re ready to start you certificate, diploma or degree with AMES - The Institute of IT, there are four simple steps you’ll need to take to start studying with one of New Zealand’s leading IT education providers.
STEP ONE: Apply Online
You’ll need to fill out our online enrolment form by clicking Enrol Now or visiting https://www.ames.ac.nz/apply/. This form will ask you a few simple questions, including your contact details and the course you’re interested in applying form, and will take no more than five minutes to complete.
STEP TWO: Check if you’re eligible for Fees Free study
While you’re waiting for one of our recruitment managers to get back to you, why not visit the Fees Free page to see if you’re eligible? Tertiary education is now fees free for eligible first time tertiary students, so if you’ve recently finished school of if you’ve not studied at a tertiary level before, it’s worth seeing whether or not you meet the criteria. Visit https://www.feesfree.govt.nz/ for more information.
STEP THREE: Meet our recruitment team
Once our recruitment team have received your application, one of our friendly recruitment managers will contact you and invite you in for an interview.
There are three ways that this interview can be conducted:
- Come in for a face-to-face interview: This is also a great opportunity to visit our campus and meet our tutors and staff
- Submit a Letter of Intent: This letter is designed to outline to our team why you’re passionate about IT and emerging technologies and what you’d like to get out of the course. Some of the topics you may like to answer in your Letter of Intent include: Why you want to study IT; what your dream career is; and what previous experience you have in IT.
- Skype in: If you can’t make it on to campus and you’d prefer to be interviewed in person instead of writing a letter, a Skype interview is the perfect option for you.
STEP FOUR: Supply any additional information
Once you’ve met our recruitment team, they may ask you for some additional supporting documents. These documents could include academic transcripts, proof of previous study, or any other document the team thinks may strengthen your application.
When this process is complete, you’ll be all set to start your studies with AMES – The Institute of IT!
