Learn and apply the skills you need to start a career in code. Learn sought-after skills in tech, from SQL, C# to JavaScript, with guidance from our team of experienced lecturers.

This course teaches you how to use SQL Server to create relational databases, query data and return it in different formats. You’ll also learn backup/restore strategies and security control. Using practical exercises, you’ll become familiar with developing data warehouse solutions with Microsoft's .Net Framework.

Learning about desktop and mobile application development and .Net Frameworks will equip you to build applications on Windows operating system and Windows using the C# programming language. From there you’ll advance to web and mobile application development using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, ASP.NET technologies. You will also become familiar with object-oriented development, Model View Controller (MVC) methodologies and API’s.  

You will also develop the workforce skills you’ll need to take your first career steps in the IT industry.

Software developers are currently on New Zealand's short skill list. Continual increases in PC and smartphone use means there is strong demand for creative IT professionals. There is also strong projected employment growth of around 4.6% per year from 2014-19 and 4.2% per year to 2024.
